Behind the Scenes – Red Hook Wedding Videography

In this video, I’m going to take you behind the scenes in a recent wedding shoot we did in Red Hook.

It took place at this amazing location by the river. You can see the great views of the statue of Liberty as well as downtown Manhattan.

The place is called the Liberty Warehouse which is 3 stops from the ferry in Manhattan.

As you can see, it’s just an amazing location and we were happy to have an opportunity to film this wedding video for the lucky couple.

As with most videographers, we got started in video production with weddings. I think that’s how most people start with video.

New York City is such a wonderful city for filmmaking and video production. It’s no wonder there are so many people wanting to be in New York.

Because of that it’s hard to break into filmmaking in NYC. But you gotta start somewhere.

And at 2Bridges we got our start in weddings. We started doing weddings for family and friends.

This led to one gig to another. Then we got our break to shoot YouTube videos for a vodka brand. Then we got a call from Amazon. Then Qatar Airways. And we’ve been providing video production and video marketing for amazing brands in New York City.

We’ve been doing corporate video since then.

But we haven’t forgotten our roots. We do weddings from time to time, as it’s as close to narrative filmmaking as you can get.

Making films has a sort of formula to it. You have the story arcs and beats you have to hit.

Same goes with weddings. You got the first look. You got the vows. You got the speeches. These are the beats you’ve got to hit. Then the creativity comes in.

This is probably why I still do weddings from time to time. It satisfies my creativity itch. And at the end of the day, being creative is why we video / film makers do what we do.
